Yep…it’s time. The DVDs and CDs are being pressed right now. So…we’ll have them very soon….which means we can get them to you!
The first 500 orders will receive a free copy of the SoundTrack album on CD. This is a 14 track(!) album with lots of music from the film. There’s the debut songs from the act featured in the film ‘The Long Firm’. There’s 2 brand new songs from Sonic Hub….2 tracks from ‘The New Town Centres’…one of which has never been released. There’s also the debut from Scarlett Wilde and a great track from Thom Mills. We’re particularly proud to have a ‘Sonic Hub VS World Famous Audio Hacker’ remix of ‘New Man’ on there called ‘Almost Human’…it’s wicked.
The DVD has the film…lots of very funny out-takes…a ‘making of’ slideshow film and a few other extras…
Grab a copy of the of the limited first retail pressing of ‘Shoot The DJ’ now.
The DVD is nearly ready.. in fact as soon as the BBFC decide on the certificate and we get the master to the pressing plant…we’ll be ready to start taking orders.
The CD is pretty much ready… we’re just tweaking a few tunes and it goes to be pressed the same day as the DVDs. It’s a great album…loads of big club tunes, but also some great pop and indie stuff.
Remember the first orders we receive for the DVD get the CD album free! We’ll let everyone know on the order page when the stock has run out. Once this happens, the CD will be available to buy separately.
At some point this summer…probably July, we’re going to Hamburg to screen the film for the German fans out there. Thanks to Ralph and ‘Cosmic Sister’, this is going to be happening at SichtBar. It’s a really cool bar/screening room in Hamburg.
We’ll keep you posted and let you know the screening date as soon as it’s finalized.

Just so you know.. (as we’ve gone a bit quiet).. The DVD is on the way. We’re just about to submit to the BBFC for the certificate and then it’s straight to the DVD pressing plant. We’ll be taking the film to Cannes in May..(we’re there from the 15th – 20th May) so we’ll be pressing the flesh and doing some deals to get the movie out in various territories throughout the world…. but it will be available for mail-order from our website as soon as we have them… hopefully no more than a month from now.

We’re putting the finishing touches to the retail version of the DVD at the moment. Building the menus and the extra features etc. It’s looking slick…
We’re also submitting to some film festivals… not many, just the ones that look like we might go down well at.
We’ve had lots of interesting feedback from the screening and from some people that received review copies of the DVD. Nearly all of the feedback was very positive… the only common comment was that some of the music-only sections were a bit long..so we’ve re-edited the master for the final release version. It’s about 3 minutes shorter.

Last night was huge… we played the film for the first time to a packed-out REMIX club in Hitchin. The cast, crew and friends and family turned up to see our film for the first time on the big screen.
Normski hosted the evening for us and got on the decks afterwards to get the party started. What a star.
We’re were nervous, but it got such a great reaction that we needn’t have worried. I think we all felt an incredible buzz when the whole place erupted as the credits began to roll at the end… amazing.
Massive thanks to all those that came and sorry to those we couldn’t squeeze in this time…there’s more to come.

Well it’s been a very tough week…the final stage of compressing the 20GB master DV file into a tiny 4GB file to fit on a DVD has proved really tough. It starts to show up the limitations of the orginal DV footage and all kinds of compression artifacts creep in. It’s pretty depressing when the original looks so nice. Still, we’ve got it to the point where we’re happy that it can’t get any better..(well, not without spending £5k on a Hollywood quality encoding).
So, it’s done…i can finally stop spending every waking hour at the studio. Phew…
We’ve just got to get them stuffed into jiffy bags and in the post now.
