Tomorrow (June 29th) on Channel 4 in the UK, “The 5 O’Clock Show” are interviewing Tony Hadley and are talking to him about his involvement with ‘Shoot The DJ’ as well as his daughter Toni’s involvement. They have asked to show a clip from the film which we have of course allowed…hopefully, they’ll say something positive about the project.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Katalin who is doing some great PR for us while i was in Vienna. It’s great to meet and work with such keen and genuine people…long may it continue.
We’re now fully up to date with the DVD orders… all the DVDs ordered have been shipped, so now each new order is shipped within about 24hours.
A big thanks goes out to Gema at www.mandolinmusic.co.uk for promoting the film on various Spanish and Italian websites. It’s great to have you on board.
If anyone else out there has a website where you could either advertise the movie of maybe set up an affiliate program with us, please get in touch. sean@shootthedj.com
We’re extending the free CD album offer indefinitely now…until they are all gone. We’ve had so much good feedback on the album and i feel it’s part of the story….to hear the tunes that the film is all about.
We went to the Festival De Cannes last week to represent ‘Shoot The DJ’, as well as the 2 shorts i made which were part of the short film corner. We had an amazing time and met lots of useful contacts who are helping to push ‘Shoot The DJ’ as far as we can…and we also made some serious inroads into the plans for our next film.
After all the grief with the DVDs, we’ve finally got all the back-orders in the post! We’re really sorry it took so long, but you can rest assured that from now on, the time between ordering and taking delivery will be much more reasonable. (Just reliant on the postal service now)
Anyone with any ideas for helping to publicise the film should email us at info@shootthedj.com
Huge news…for fans in the USA… due to there not being an NTSC version of the DVD yet, you can rent the movie to watch exclusively on YouTube. For just $1.99 you can rent the movie online and watch it on your PC or Mac… you get 72 hours after you pay to watch the movie. This is only for US based fans.
This coming wednesday, we’re going to the Cannes Film Festival to promote ‘Shoot The DJ’ as well as represent a couple of other projects we have at the festival.
This coming monday, all DVDs ordered already will be posted out. From this point onwards, all DVD orders should be fulfilled within a week.
This is seriously collectable DVD and CD package… it won’t be around for long. This is your only chance to get a first edition of the DVD.
We’ve been asked to partner with YouTube and upload the full film for people to rent. This means that very soon, you can watch ‘Shoot The DJ’ online for a small fee without having to leave the comfort of your laptop.
We’re also looking into a pay-to-download service where you’ll be able buy an mp4 version of ‘Shoot The DJ’ to keep and watch whenever you like. You could even stick it on your iphone or HTC or whatever you’ve got… even the iPad!
Yep…it’s time. The DVDs and CDs are being pressed right now. So…we’ll have them very soon….which means we can get them to you!
The first 500 orders will receive a free copy of the SoundTrack album on CD. This is a 14 track(!) album with lots of music from the film. There’s the debut songs from the act featured in the film ‘The Long Firm’. There’s 2 brand new songs from Sonic Hub….2 tracks from ‘The New Town Centres’…one of which has never been released. There’s also the debut from Scarlett Wilde and a great track from Thom Mills. We’re particularly proud to have a ‘Sonic Hub VS World Famous Audio Hacker’ remix of ‘New Man’ on there called ‘Almost Human’…it’s wicked.
The DVD has the film…lots of very funny out-takes…a ‘making of’ slideshow film and a few other extras…
